IN HONOR OF Charles G. Scott Jr. for his service, courage, and commitment in the defense of this great Nation during his 1 year tour (1969-1970) in the Mekong Delta, Republic of South Vietnam. Mr. Scott was part of the 9th Army Infantry Division and the Big Red One (1st Infantry division) during his time of service. Some soldiers were drafted into war, but Mr. Scott chose to volunteer for the draft to War. After so many years, Mr. Scott was given a certificate and a flag flown in his honor in the face of the enemy over a Special Operations base in Afghanistan on August 6th, 2013. Jason Burton, CTR 2 IWD, AW, a U.S. Navy Sailor from the NIOC Pensacola, Florida Naval Intelligence Operation Command presented his father-in-law with a gift this Veterans Day 2013. Jason is also a Vet from Operation Enduring Freedom with a nine month tour with the VF-14 Tophatters aviation squadron on the USS Nimitiz Carrier Strike Group. Jason, his wife Amy who is Mr. Scotts daughter, granddaughter Samara, and grandson Jacob are stationed in Pensacola, FL. We love you papaw Scott.
