About Campbell County Veterans

The July 4thholiday is an appropriate time for reflection on the freedom that we enjoy today.  It was with great sacrifice that our independence was won and that sacrifice by our armed services has continued throughout America’s history.  “Thanks for your service” seems so inadequate for the veterans who have volunteered and spent blood, sweat, and tears to protect our freedom.  It is with great respect and admiration that we recognize veterans in Campbell County.

Located in the Courthouse Annex at 705 East Central in LaFollette, the Campbell County Veterans Affairs Office works diligently to assist our veterans and their dependents with obtaining benefits to which they are entitled.  These services include counseling and advice, funds, medical treatment, loaning of medical equipment, educational benefits, burial benefits, as well as assistance in filing necessary forms.  Additionally, their website (http://www.campbellcountyvet.com/) provides links to Vet Biz.Com for bidding on contracts that are set aside by the federal government for companies owned by veterans.  Claim applications can also be filed electronically via the website.

Under the leadership of Kevin Walden (USAF retired), Campbell County has ranked number 1 out of 95 counties in providing monetary benefits for the county’s approximately 3500 veterans and families.  Prior to Kevin’s appointment, Bob and Linda Andreas did an outstanding job and left a strong foundation on which to continue to build. In addition, the Campbell County Veterans Affairs Office has brought in over 17 million new dollars during 2006-2009.  Statistics are pending for 2010-2011.

Campbell County Veterans – we appreciate you!
