Blue Devils fall in tourney finale

The Jellico High School boy's basketball team was defeated by Seymour on the final day of the Pilot Food Mart Winter Classic.

The Jellico High boy’s basketball team ended the Pilot Food Mart Winter Classic last week with a 61-58 loss to Seymour.

Jesse Chamber paced the Blue Devils with 13 points, followed by Ben Mitchell with 10, Darius Marlow and Jeremiah Thompson eight each, Matt Ayers seven, Thomas Ridenour six, Michael Smith four and Dustin Smiddy two. Greg Korlin led all scorers with 20 points.

Jellico led throughout much of the first half. The Blue Devils were ahead 18-15 after one quarter and held a one-point advantage, 28-27, at intermission.

By the end of the third quarter, Seymour had the upper hand, 44-40.

Jellico fell to 8-4 overall with the loss.
