In February Anthony Meade Bowman, Jr. was the victim of a shooting that occurred on Rose Hill Drive.
But when LaFollette Police officers caught up with him in the same area last Thursday he was the alleged perpetrator of a crime instead.
In the early morning hours Officer Dennis Chadwell responded to the call of a robbery on Rose Hill Drive.
The victims of the incident reported that a purse containing $772 in cash, a checkbook and food stamp card were taken. In addition, the second victim was missing $150 in cash, a food stamp card and a 12 day supply of two different medications.
Bowman, 21, of 5800 Old Highway 63, fled the home on foot, LPD records indicate.
After speaking with several people and searching the area Chadwell along with Officers Josh Vann and Ronald Halcomb found Bowman hiding behind a house nearly half a mile from the scene of the crime, according to Chadwell’s complaint.
As officers searched the area they discovered Bowman was allegedly holding the purse in question and was found to have the cash and a syringe stuffed in his pants.
Bowman is charged with robbery, theft over $1,000, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 27.
