Stanley Justin Burress, 31, of 148 Foust Lane, Lake City, realized every criminal’s nightmare earlier this year when he was caught on tape in the midst of an alleged crime.
Earlier this year he was found to be in possession of a vehicle not belonging to him, according to a report from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.
Burress allegedly took the 2008 Ford Taurus from Queener Lane in Caryville without the owner’s permission and proceeded to drive his brother to Oak Ridge Methodist Hospital emergency room. Burress’ brother was taken later to a burn center in Vanderbilt. Burress then left the hospital in the vehicle and failed to return it to its rightful owner on Feb. 17, according to the report. The vehicle was later found in Two Ponds in the Beach Grove/Briceville Area. Burress was arrested on Aug. 7 and charged with theft of property over $10,000.
