Campbell County’s government website is now live.
“It’s a work in progress,” said Billie Russell, from the county mayor’s office. “We will be adding information and features to it as we go along.”
The website currently provides information about each department, elected officials, utilities and has links to civic organizations.
“It’s a lot of information in one spot about county government,” Russell said.
“We get a lot of different questions about different things in the office,” Russell said.
The county is trying to provide this information on the web so it will be more convenient, Russell said.
Russell sees it as another stepping stone towards economic improvement and development in Campbell County.
“It’s an effort to help us with industry recruitment,” Russell said.
When businesses seek to locate in an area, the first place they go for information is online, Russell said. In the past, the chamber of commerce had the website, and the Campbell County government didn’t.
“Now when they look for information, it will be there,” Russell said.
