Campbell County baseball team goes 0-4 for the week

It’s been a tough week for the Campbell County High School varsity baseball team.


The Cougars (8-14 overall) dropped four consecutive district games between Tuesday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 17.

Included in that total were bookend losses to Hardin Valley.The week started off with a 4-0 loss to Hardin Valley. Campbell County got only three hits and committed three errors.

Lee Sharp, Tucker Cain and Chris Hutson each had a single.

The following afternoon, Campbell County fell 10-0 at Powell. Andy Hickman got the only hit for the Cougars against the district’s best team.On Saturday, Karns avenged an earlier loss to Campbell County with a 3-2 win on the Cougars’ home field. Bo Farris went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two runs scored to lead Campbell County. Sharp went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Landon Brackett was 1-for-3 with a double.

Campbell County had shut out Karns 2-0 in the earlier meeting of the two teams. Then on Tuesday night, the Cougars were blanked 10-0 by Hardin Valley. Sharp, Hutson, Aaron Chapman, Nick Bailey, Brackett and Cain each got a base hit.
