Campbell County’s boys let a big game slip through their fingers Tuesday night.
Playing at home for likely the final time this season, the Cougars had a six-point lead over District 3-AAA rival Karns High School going to the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold onto it.
The Beavers escaped the Cougar Den with an 86-79 victory in a game that took two overtimes to complete.
Colin Crane scored 22 of his game-high 34 points in the second half and overtime periods for Karns. Zach Norman led the Cougars with 27 points, eight of which he scored in overtime.
