Caryville man garners drug and theft charges

Michael Justin Estep, 28, of 322 Park Place Lane, Caryville, was arrested on May 22 for possession of stolen property and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, according to a Jacksboro Police report.

Jacksboro Officer Corey Taylor was dispatched to Highland Street on the report of a couple of suspicious people, according to Taylor’s report.

Upon investigation, Estep was found to have a stolen Hi-Point 380 pistol tucked into the front of his pants, according to Taylor.  It was also found that Estep had allegedly sold five Xanax pills for $2 a piece to one of the individuals and had also tried to sell the stolen pistol as well, according to the police report.  The weapon was allegedly stolen out of Union County, according to Taylor.

Estep is currently being held on $2,000 and has a court date set for May 29.
