This weekend the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Campbell County are celebrating families with fun for both children and adults.

On Saturday at the National Guard Armory in Jacksboro, a variety of educational booths, games and demonstrations will be available.

The educational booths will include drug information, local job information and facts from over 10 local agencies assisting families.

Agencies appealing to families at the event include Community Health of East Tennessee, Celebrate Recovery, Pregnancy Help Center of Campbell County and Campbell County Chamber of Commerce.

“This is an opportunity for area agencies to come together and let the community know the resources available to them,” said CASA Volunteer Recruiter Jennifer Holt. “There are a lot of agencies here that many people are not aware of.”

CASA will have a booth and will be recruiting volunteers at the event, said Holt.

There will be a rockwall, frisbee-golf, face painting and removable tattoo stations for children activities.

“We have CASA volunteers and CASA office staff manning those activities,” said Holt.

Kids on the Block puppet shows will be performing at the start of every hour and the Tennessee Academy of Martial Arts demonstrations will also be performing at the event. A booth for the Imagination Library will also be present, reading stories to the children. In addition to the many activities, there will be an abundance of door prizes.

Free lunch, including bar-b-q sandwiches, chips and drinks, will be provided courtesy of CASA and snacks and drinks will be available at several of the booths, according to Holt.

“Come ready to have a great time with your family,” said Holt.

The event starts at 10 a.m. and will continue until 2 p.m. For more information contact Holt at 562-2700.
