A week after storms dropped ice onto East Tennessee, Campbell County received light snow showers. Snow fell on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning.
There was some accumulation on roads, but there weren’t any major accidents during the weekend, Campbell County 911 Director Charlie Hutson said.
Neither LaFollette Utilities Board or Jellico Electric and Water System reported any weather related power outages in Campbell County over the weekend.
“We had one, I think, and it wasn’t weather related,” said Becky Miller, dispatch coordinator with LUB’s service department.
The outage, which involved a pole with a rotten top, occurred Sunday morning, Miller said. Two customers were without power for 45 minutes before LUB employees restored it.
While there weren’t any outages in the portion of Campbell County serviced by Jellico Electric and Water System, there were two in Kentucky, General Manager Billy Rowe said.
“We had a couple on the Kentucky side,” he said.
There was an individual outage, and an outage caused by a tree that had fallen, Rowe said. These outages were caused by the weather, Rowe said. About 15 customers were affected, and it took about two hours to restore power, Rowe said.
