Ethan Comer, of LaFollette, recently competed at the 2011 Louisiana Pro-Am Karate and Kung-Fu Nationals held at New Orleans. The tournament is sanctioned by the National Black Belt League. As such, it allows its competitors to earn points toward world rankings, resulting in an invitation to compete in the world championships. Comer, one of over 400 competitors, earned a first place ranking for his performance in the musical double-nunchukus division, a competition that included all black belts from all age groups and karate disciplines.
