Campbell County suffered a 14-7 setback Friday night against District 3 football rival Karns.
Quarterback Tuffy Shoupe scored on a 5-yard touchdown run to put the Cougars (0-2 district, 0-4 overall) on the scoreboard first. Wesley Cook kicked the extra point. The 12-play scoring drive covered nearly 60 yards and consumed almost seven minutes of the opening quarter. The Beavers answered with a pair of touchdowns and a 2-point conversion during the second quarter. Keenan Evans blocked an extra-point kick following the first Karns touchdown. The halftime score was also 14-7.
