Campbell County High School’s boys went 3-1 last weekend at a team basketball camp hosted by Grace Christian Academy.

The Cougars defeated the host team by six points, Scott County by 37 and Cleveland by four before falling to Webb by six in their final game of the camp on Saturday.

“I think it’s really encouraging,” Campbell County coach Matt Housley said.

“I’ve never seen a more unselfish group. It’s crazy how excited I am about them.”

It’s been a busy week for the Cougars, who had Sunday off before hitting the road again on Monday for a three-day camp at UT-Chattanooga. From there, the Cougars will go straight to Lincoln Memorial University for their final team camp of the summer, Thursday through Saturday.

“I made it to where we practice eight days in a row, then play eight days in a row and see how it goes,” Housley said.

Campbell County returns nearly all its perimeter players but lost most of its big men, including Alice Lloyd College signees Nick Litton and Tyler Chapman.
