Council debates nepotism policy

At the LaFollette workshop Tuesday night, Councilman Hansford Hatmaker began a discussion on the nepotism policy. Hansford said if the city was not going to abide by the statute then it should be abolished.

“Lets just do away with it, cause if we don’t do away with it then we’re going to have to transfer some people,” said Hatmaker.

Councilman Bob Fannon said while some employees are related they are not affected by the policy.
