James Daugherty of Jacksboro was promoted to black belt on March 24 in Kung Fu San Soo. Master Gerry Myers (on the left) presented the certificate to Daugherty with Sensei Larry Bostic (standing on the right.) Bostic is chief instructor of the Academy for Martial Arts at the LaFollette Fitness Center. Bostic manages the center and also teaches Shaolin Kung Fu at Clinton. Kung Fu San Soo is a southern Chinese martial art documented back to 1,500 B.C. Shaolin Kung Fu is a northern Chinese martial art about 1,500 years old.
