A day on the lake will now turn into a day in court.
On Friday John H. Davis was arrested on a sealed indictment from the February grand jury term.
In that indictment Davis was charged with vehicular assault, felony reckless endangerment and two counts of BUI.
The charges stem from an August 2008 boating accident.
At that time, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Authorities said the 26-foot Sea Ray boat incurred trouble near the Twin Cove area just after 11 p.m.
The investigation revealed the boat had four occupants when the accident happened.
All complained of injuries to authorities at the time.
John H. Davis, Knoxville, was found to be the driver. He claimed the most distress. Davis told TWRA agents he was suffering from neck and leg injuries as a result of the crash.
The other three occupants also said they had neck pain.
In the indictment, Davis was charged with injuring only one of them, Alexa V. Smith.
Opened and unopened containers of alcohol were found on the Sea Ray as TWRA agents canvassed it, authorities said.
Davis is expected to appear in court Tuesday.
