A domestic dispute led to kidnapping charges for a LaFollette man last week.

LaFollette Police Officer Tony Rucker was called to the corner of North 13th and West Central Avenue in response to a domestic dispute in progress.

At the scene the victim reported she and Kenneth Howard Bowman, 39, of 221 Cairn Circle, Apartment 76B, Knoxville, had been drinking when the argument began, according to LPD records.

Records indicate the when the victim attempted to leave the residence Bowman “grabbed her and threw her to the ground.” During this time Bowman allegedly hit the victim several times in the face leaving a cut below her right eye.

Rucker also reportedly observed the victim to have scratches around her throat where Bowman had allegedly choked her for about one minute.

The victim told officers Bowman sat on her for more than 20 minutes preventing her from leaving the scene, according to Rucker’s report.

Bowman was arrested and charged with assault by domestic violence and kidnapping.

He is scheduled to appear in court on May 29.
