Domestic violence call led to drug arrest in Jacksboro

Crystal Michelle King, 26, of Butter and Egg Road, Caryville, was arrested on public intoxication and drug charges on July 10. Jacksboro Police Chief Danny Chapman was on patrol when he observed a disturbance at Eagle Bluff Road, according to the police report. Upon investigating the incident, Chapman learned that King, who is eight months pregnant, had allegedly been assaulted by her boyfriend Kenny Lee Kidwell.

King was verbally abusive towards Chapman and Officer Darrell Mongar and had slurred speech. She was also unsteady on her feet, according to the report. When asked to submit to a sobriety test, King allegedly refused. Upon searching her purse, officers found two syringes, the police report said. King also was allegedly holding a container with five red and white capsules inside. There was no prescription on the container, according to the police report.

King was charged with public intoxication, possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. King was released on July 10 and she has a court date set for July 24. Kidwell, 26, of the same address, was also arrested and charged with domestic violence by assault. He also has a court date set for July 24.
