A LaFollette woman is facing theft of property under $500, filing a false police report, driving on a revoked license and using false identification charges after drinking beer in gas station restroom and then lying to police.

On Nov. 29, Linda Ann Morse, 46, 204 South 12 th Street LaFollette, was arrested after store security footage confirmed her identity. LaFollette Police Officer William Owens had been notified that a possible shoplifter had left a LaFollette gas station after drinking a portion of Miller Lite 12 pack in the ladies room without paying for it, the LPD report said.

When Owens saw a vehicle matching the description of the one given by gas station employees, he conducted a traffic stop.

As Owens questioned Morse, she gave him numerous false pieces of identifying information including an alias, he said.

His report said Morse had “a lengthy history of doing this because she had two outstanding warrants.”
