A Campbell County duo is facing theft charges stemming from an alleged home invasion on Car View Lane in LaFollette.
Michael Allen Taylor, 26, 1005 Whitman Hollow Road, LaFollette, and Brittany Leigh Boshears, 24, 2732 Demory Road, LaFollette are both facing charges of aggravated burglary and theft of property up to $59,999.
Boshears allegedly drove Taylor to a spot near the victim’s home where she dropped him off. From there he walked through the woods and waited until the victim left. That is when he allegedly went in the house through a backdoor, the warrant said.
“He used a screwdriver and crowbar to pry the backdoor open,” said Campbell County Sheriff’s Det. Freddie White. “They knew the victim because they had been to her home before.”
Once inside the two allegedly stole $10,000 in cash, multiple pieces of jewelry and numerous electronic items.
They were connected to the break in when police used an online resource to track items sold at area pawnshops, White said. Taylor and Boshears were caught when routine surveillance trapped them at a Caryville pawnshop.
They later confessed to their crimes, giving police the details of the robbery, White said. They are set to appear in court Friday.
