Elbert Lovely Elbert Lovely, age 77 of Vinton, VA, formerly of the Cherry Bottom Community, passed away Feb. 6 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. He was born June 20, 1931 in Campbell County to the late Lee and Lela Queener Lovely. Elbert was of the Baptist faith, retired from the U.S. Army after 28 years of service, having served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a mason, loved working outdoors, and collecting coins. In addition to his parents, Elbert is preceded in death by son, Charles Elbert Lovely; brother, Arvil Lovely; sisters, Barbara Hyder and Helen Lovely. Elbert is survived by sons, Gary Lovely and wife, Ophelia of Cornersville, Donald Lovely and wife, Brenda of Culleoke, Bill Lovely and wife, Tracy of Culleoke; daughters, Rhonda Parker and husband, David of Columbia, Wilma Jo Clark and husband, James of Columbia, Robin Cothran and husband, James of Columbia, Melanie Coleman and husband, Bobby of Columbia; brothers, Lee “Red” Lovely and wife, Mary of Lake City, Homer Lovely and wife, Elizabeth of Racine, WI, Willard Lovely and wife, Kathy of Racine, WI; sisters, Pauline Pemberton of St. Petersburg, FL, Betty Jo Kidwell of Hermitage, Sue Prim of LaFollette; mother of his children, Jean Lovely of Culleoke; special grandson, Nathan Tyree of Vinten, VA; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Feb. 9 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bill Waddell officiating. Interment will follow in the Lovely Cemetery with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Visitation will be Feb. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hatmaker Funeral Home. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
