Environmental committee debates tipping fees

Tipping fees for class III and class IV materials topped discussion at Monday’s environmental committee meeting.

Commissioner Rusty Orick approached the committee requesting members to consider lowering the $20 per ton fee on class IV materials to $10 per ton.

Orick argued since implementing the fee that requires commercial entities wishing to dump brush, known as class IV materials, the county environmental services department seen little of this type refuse brought in.
