The Clinch River Chapter of Trout Unlimited is offering its annual Beginning Fly Tying class to the public. The six classes are scheduled for Thursday evenings, 7-9 p.m., from Jan. 20 through March 3 (no class on Feb. 10).
Students will learn to tie nine popular flies that are effective in area tailwaters and in the Smoky Mountains. The techniques used will enable participants to tie many other flies, as well. Classes will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 158 W. Norris Road, Norris. The class fee is $100, with proceeds benefiting the Clinch River Chapter’s conservation and children’s projects. Tools and materials will be provided.
This popular course fills up fast, and is a great holiday gift for any angler. Persons interested should contact Buzz Buffington at firstname.lastname@example.org or (865) 463-7167 in order to reserve a spot in the class.
