One week after submitting a resignation, former Jellico town recorder Linda Douglas has filed a workman’s compensation claim against the town.
Douglas injured her back on Nov. 8 while moving boxes, according to a notice from Douglas’s attorney Dave Dunaway to Jellico Mayor Les Stiers.
“Since that time and because of the impending economic situation in which the City of Jellico was involved, Ms. Douglas was not given time to recuperate from her injuries,” the letter said.
