A traffic stop led to the discovery of a working meth lab around midnight on Monday.

LaFollette Police Officer Josh van stopped the vehicle with Justin Heath Powell, Charles Andrew Chapman, Michelle Phillips and Christina Etters near Y-12 Federal Credit Union on Jacksboro Pike.

When Vann discovered the operational lab Officers Bill Owens and Coty Frazier as well as meth techs Officer Pam Jarrett and Det. Sgt. Jason Henegar were called to the scene to secure the lab.

According to reports, Jarrett discovered all of the components needed to manufacture methamphetamine as well as a cook bottle inside the vehicle in the back pack.  Henegar called for a hazardous materials crew to dispose of the toxic chemicals.

The quartet was charged with promotion of meth manufacture and initiation of the process intended to manufacture meth.
