LaFollette Police discovered there was more than fishing going on along the banks of Norris Lake last Friday night.
Officer Steve Wallen received information of possible meth lab located on Oxford Lane in the Andy Baird trailer park, reports said.
While at the residence Wallen along with Det. Lt. Monty Miller, Det. Sgt. Jason Henegar, Officers Pam Jarrett, Daniel Terry and Corey Taylor discovered a number of items used in the manufacture of meth around the home, according to the offense report.
Chad Meade, 36, Jennifer R. Meade, 34, Ricky Lynn Partin, 45, and Teresa Ann Partin, 40, all of 131 Oxford Drive, were at the residence when officers arrived to investigate.
When questioned, Chad Meade told officers although the meth components were found with identification belonging to him the items were not his. Instead, Chad Meade reported all the lab remains located in his residence came out of Ricky Partin’s vehicle.
As the investigation continued LPD officers learned of the possibility this lab could be linked to one at Heatherly’s point.
When officers went to the Norris Lake location several other items used in the manufacture of meth were found, records indicate.
Meade’s sister, Jennifer Meade, also told officers she had “received and used meth that was cooked by a Ricky Partin but did not have anything to do with the actual cook.” Jennifer Meade also reported the meth lab “trash” found in the home was taken from Partin’s vehicle and she allegedly knew there was a cook taking place at the lake.
The arrest warrant states Meade told Wallen she did not know the exact location of the lab “only that Ricky Partin and her brother (Chad Meade) had gone to the area to cook a few days before.”
During the investigation, Ricky Partin told Terry he had used meth four or five days prior but didn’t know anything about how to cook it.
In addition to the four defendants, officers also located a small child at the residence. The Department of Children’s Services (DCS) responded to the scene and the child was removed from the home.
Chad Meade, Jennifer Meade, Ricky Partin and Teresa Partin were all placed under arrest and charged with promotion to manufacture meth and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. They are scheduled to appear in court on March 27.
