LaFOLLETTE—Friends of Campbell County Animals has received a $5,000 Relocation Grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® to fund its Freedom Ride Transport Program.

The rescue program is part of the efforts of FCCA, along with their Rock ‘n’ Roll Spay/Neuter Program, to combat the overpopulation of pets in Campbell County and to curb the intake of animals at the Adrion W. Baird Animal Center of Campbell County.

This grant funded the program for the first half of the year, enabling FCCA to assist 300 cats and over 600 dogs to be transported to no-kill organizations in other states, where they received the chance to be adopted into loving homes.

The grant funds were used to purchase the required vaccines, health certificates and other costs associated with the preparation of the animals for transport.
