Effectively fighting crime requires police officers to pick up on even the most obscure details.
On Sunday LaFollette Police Officer William Owens was patrolling in an area known for recent drug activity when he noticed a suspicious person in the vicinity of South 8th Street, reports from the incident said.
Arrest records indicate that Brandon Scott Harmon, 23 of 1522 Melvin Hollow Road, “seemed nervous” when he was approached by Owens.
According to reports, Owen conducted a pat down search of Harmon and discovered a pill bottle in his coat pocket, which Harmon described as his “hydros and antibiotics.”
Harmon also allegedly had another pill bottle with 20 pills, believed to be clonazepam as well as other pills believed to be hydrocodone and xanax, the arrest report said.
Harmon was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II substance, possession of a schedule III substance and possession of a schedule IV substance. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5.
