Head Start announces enrollment

Since 1965 Head Start has been preparing children for school. Four centers in Campbell County will be accepting applications for the upcoming school year.

Children three-years-old by September can join the head start program. Additional criteria are reviewed said Faye Walden, family service worker for West LaFollette Head Start. The federally funded program provides free early childhood education to pre-school age students.

Income and number of people in the household are among the criteria, said Walden.
