Hit and run leaves one dead; investigation opened

Police are investigating a possible hit and run fatality that occurred Tuesday night.

Just after 11 p.m. Terenia D. Grubbs, of Middlesboro, Ky., was crossing Highway 25W in Jacksboro when she was struck by a vehicle. It was believed at that time the vehicle was a white pick up truck. Reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol indicate the vehicle fled the scene.

Grubbs was later pronounced dead. She had allegedly been drinking, the THP report said.
