A report of an alleged break-in kept LaFollette Police Officer Josh Vann busy last week.

On Dec. 22 Vann was called to Manor West Apartments to investigate the report of an intruder.

Upon arriving at the scene Vann reported encountering Charles Jack Hopper, II, 35, of 4712 Back Valley Road, exiting the apartment. During his investigation Vann found that Hopper had allegedly entered the apartment without the resident’s permission causing the occupants to fear for their safety.

Records indicate when Hopper gained access to the apartment the occupants fled to a bedroom and locked the door. Hopper allegedly gained entry to the bedroom by kicking in the door.

When one of the victims attempted to protect the other occupants, Hopper allegedly assaulted her by throwing her to the floor and kicking her in the ribs.

Hopper was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing, assault and vandalism under $1,000.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 8.
