A LaFollette couple found themselves in trouble recently. On Jan. 18 Detective Brandon Elkins of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department began investigating a burglary in the Lynch Hollow area where an individual reported the theft of a generator from their garage, according to the arrest warrant.

During the investigation Elkins discovered that Rose Jr. Kitts, Jr. along with his wife, Ashley Kitts attempted to sale the generator at a local tire shop with no success. They allegedly then took the generator to a Salvage Shop in LaFollette where it was sold for $300, according to the warrant. The generator was recovered from the Salvage Shop and returned to its owner.

It was also discovered that Kitts contacted two people at the tire shop and ask them not to give Elkins a statement about the crime. He allegedly told one of the individuals that he would make it worth his while if he did not give a statement, according to the warrant.

Rose Jr. Kitts, Jr., 28, 509 Lynch Hollow Road, LaFollette is charged with burglary, theft of property over $500, coercion of witness. Ashley Ann Kitts, 25, 330 Davis Chapel Road, LaFollette is charged with filing false report or bomb threat and theft over $500. They are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 5.
