A recent traffic stop had a passenger in the vehicle scrambling.

While executing a traffic stop last Monday LaFollette Police Officer John Baker observed Mark Mitchell Ivey, 28, of 148 Davenport Road, allegedly attempting to conceal items underneath a child seat in the vehicle.

When Ivey was asked to step out of the car, Baker spotted a pack of cigarettes in his hand. The cigarette pack allegedly contained a marijuana cigarette inside the cellophane wrapper on the pack, the LPD report said.

Ivey was placed under arrest.

During a search of the vehicle, Baker and Officer Pam Jarrett recovered a pill scraper, a pack of rolling papers, a pill container, two syringes and a razor blade as well as two empty Oxycodone bottles from under the child seat.

Ivey was charged with public intoxication, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 2.
