Jacksboro Middle School’s girls lived up to their No. 1 seeding Tuesday night with a 45-23 rout of Oak Ridge-Robertsville in the semifinals of the Area 2 Basketball Tournament.
Brooke Bane paced a balanced attack with 9 points for the Lady Eagles, followed by Courtney Charles with 8; Olivia Brown, Krista Williams and Whitney Williamson 7 each; Michaela Smith 4; and Aubree Cahill 1.
Blair Beeler led all scorers with 10 points for Robertsville.
Chloe White chipped in 6 points for the Lady Rams.
Jacksboro held a 25-14 advantage at halftime.
The Lady Eagles advance to face either Oak Ridge-Jefferson or Clinton in Friday’s championship game at 6 p.m.
In boy’s action, tournament host Jacksboro moved into the semifinals with a 39-26 first-round victory over Clinton.
Darin Gillenwater and Trey Torres scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Eagles. Jacksboro will play Horace Maynard today (Thurs.) at 6 p.m. for a spot in Friday’s championship game.
