Jacksboro Middle swept a varsity basketball doubleheader from rival LaFollette last week.
The Lady Eagles won going away, 46-16, as Krista Williams shot the lights out with a game-high 15 points. Whitney Williamson and Courtney Charles chipped in 7 each for Jacksboro; while Olivia Brown, McKenzie Seiber and Aubrey Cahill had 5 each; McKayla Smith and Riley Oakes 1 each.
Amber Guy led the Lady Owls with 6 points, followed by Faith Evans and Kendra King with 4 each, and Sissy Bailey 2. In boy’s action, Jacksboro defeated LaFollette 42-36 in overtime. Darin Gillenwater led the charge with 15 points for the Eagles, followed by Trey Torres with 11, Dylan Clawson 8, Jesse Sharp 6 and Seth Pebley 2. Austin North carried the Owls with 15 points, followed by Dallas Griffith with 8, Roston Letner 5, Durrand Jackson 4, Dakota Dossett and Andrew Evans 2 each. Leading 32-30 with 3 seconds left in regulation, LaFollette inbounded the ball underneath Jacksboro’s basket, but Letner was called for an offensive foul that gave Jacksboro the ball. Pebley set up near the free throw line and scored his only 2 points of the game to send it to overtime tied 32-32.
