Jellico baseball duo named all-district

Jellico High School baseball players Austin Bowlin and Brett Begluitti have been selected to the All-District 4-A Team by a vote of the league coaches.

Coach of the Year is Sean West of Oneida. Player of the Year is Logan Crisp, a senior outfielder from Oliver Springs.

Other superlatives include Slugger of the Year Brett Robinson from Wartburg; Defensive Player of the Year Matt Tinker, a senior catcher, from Oliver Springs; Pitcher of the Year Carey Gann from Oliver Springs; and Rookie of the Year Matt Williams, freshman pitcher/third baseman from Oneida.

The remaining players on the All-District 4-A Baseball Team include: Taylor Coleman, Alex Kelley, Tanner Turpin, Austin Jones, Tyler Bowling and Caleb Armetta of Oliver Springs; Bryant Harper, Clay Jeffers, Melvin Jeffers, Corey Lay and Michael Webber of Oneida; Matt Smith, Jonathan Smarsh, Dylan Wilks and Zach Moore of Wartburg; Jesse England, Bryan Brooks, Devin Brown and Timmy Turner of Sunbright; Heath Tinker, Dylan Sise, Jacob Jones and Tucker Morgan of Coalfield; and Ryan Powers and Devin Ruppe of Oakdale.
