Jellico board workshop seeks further budget cuts

Jellico Aldermen Alvin Evans, Pam Carbaugh, Tommy Bowlin, Charles Vermillion and Mayor Les Stiers met Tuesday night to brainstorm ways to cover a $250,000 budget shortfall after the 2012-12 budget failed to pass at its first reading on June 21.

“I’m gonna go on record as saying that this budget is out of whack,” said Evans. “And I’ll be the first to say, ‘Congratulations I don’t know what I’m talking about.’ Then again, I don’t know where we’re gonna get any money. I don’t have a clue. Not one.”
