The stage was set for an incredible final. The Jellico Blue Devils (18-9) and Cosby Eagles (19-8) had split their regular season series with each winning on their home courts. But, The Blue Devils were the top seed, their first-ever No. 1 seed in the District 2-A Tournament, while the Eagles were seeded third, and had to fight their way through the elimination round.
