A husband-wife duo was arrested after police allege they were selling narcotics.

The pair, Ted and Thelma Alsip of Hoot Owl Hollow Road in Jellico, originally drew attention of the Jellico Police Department after they received word about alleged acts happening in Veterans’ Park, according to police.

After evidence was gathered, it was presented to the Campbell County Grand Jury, who then issued true bills for the Alsips.

On Jan. 14, Jellico Police Chief Chris Anderson spotted the pair in downtown Jellico around lunchtime. They were taken into custody without incident.

Ted Alsip, 77, was arrested on a 12-count felony indictment with charges ranging from the sale and delivery of a schedule III drug to the sale and delivery of a schedule IV drug. The preset bond was $100,000.

Thelma Alsip. 65, was charged with eight counts of sale and delivery of schedule II and IV drugs. Her bond was also listed at $100,000.

The pair was transported to the Campbell County Jail by Anderson where they posted a reduced bail of $50,000.
