JELLICO—A 71-year-old gravedigger was indicted and arrested following a three-month investigation into his alleged drug activities.

Ralph “Kelly” Kellogg, formerly of 236 Coal St., Jellico, was staying with friends on Plum Street, where he was arrested Dec. 15 without incident, according to police.

Jellico Police Det. Jeff Ivey presented evidence against Kellogg to Campbell County’s grand jury earlier this month.

The jury then returned a six-count indictment—three counts of sale of a schedule II controlled substance and three counts of delivery of a schedule II controlled substance.

Police also seized Kellogg’s red Toyota pickup truck. He was booked in at the Campbell County Jail with a $75,000 bond.

More drug arrests are forthcoming, according to police chief Chris Anderson.
