Months after being convicted of murdering Jonathan Pierce, Miranda Kirby is still claiming she is innocent.
In a brief filed with the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals, Kirby’s attorney Robert Scott, is saying the evidence for a conviction just wasn’t there.
Earlier this year Kirby was convicted of having a hand Pierce’s death. However, in the brief, Scott says overall, prosecutors didn’t make their case for a premeditated crime, which first-degree murder is under state law.
