A LaFollette man was arrested on child pornography charges following an investigation by Det. Dan Schneider of the Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce.
Last November, Schneider identified an IP address allegedly sharing child pornography. On Feb. 11, Schneider, who also serves as a detective for the Harriman Police Department, traveled to 122 Lima Lane, LaFollette, and found Ray Daniel Reyes and his brother at the home. Both men reportedly gave written consent for Schneider and two other detectives to search the computers. The officers allegedly found child pornography. The computers were seized.
A warrant for Reyes’s arrest was issued on April 25. He was arrested without incident on April 29 by Campbell County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Darrell Mongar.
Reyes was charged with 25 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and ordered to surrender his Guatemalan passport.
He is being held at the Campbell County Jail on $150,000 bond.
