LaFollette man faces weapons charge

An alleged verbal altercation led to the arrest of Joseph Aaron Sharp, 22, of 216 Ellison Road, LaFollette.

On May 23, Jacksboro Police Officer Josh Carroll was dispatched to Springfield Lane in Jacksboro on a report of a verbal altercation, according to a Jacksboro Police report.

Upon arrival, Carroll found several people having an altercation in the roadway, with Sharp being the primary aggressor, according to Carroll’s report.

Sharp was not from the neighborhood and had not been invited.  Sharp gave Carroll permission to search his vehicle and upon investigation there was a loaded .40 caliber Beretta handgun found under the driver’s seat, according to Carroll.

Sharp was charged with unlawful carrying/possession of a weapon.  He is currently being held on $1,000 bond and has a court date set for May 29.
