CARYVILLE—A LaFollette woman was jailed after she reportedly wrecked her vehicle while driving under the influence.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Franklin Ayers was dispatched to Patty Hill Road in response to a car accident. When he arrived, Ayers reportedly found a maroon van with damage parked in the yard at 334 Patty Hill Road.

Teresa Ann Nelson, 34, 585 Glade Springs Road, LaFollette, was reportedly “staggering around” in the back of the van and nearly fell when she stepped out of the vehicle, according to police.

Ayers observed Nelson to be “on the nod,” and she nearly fell asleep several times, reports said.

Nelson was charged with driving under the influence and violation of the implied consent law.

This was her second booking at the Campbell County Jail.
