To balance next year’s budget, LaFollette will most likely dip into its fund balance.
Tonight, the city council will meet for a final reading of next year’s budget, which must be passed by June 30.
At Monday night’s workshop, LaFollette Finance Director Terry Sweat told the council departmental cuts had been made and revenue had been increased on some line items, but would the city would still need to take about $257,652 from the fund balance to balance the budget.
