Lay arrested for the fourth time in four years

  Last week Cledith Ray Lay added another arrest to his already lengthy criminal history. Lay, 29, of 470 Wooldridge Pike, Newcomb was arrested by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department. Over the course of 10 years, Lay has been arrested seven times. His most recent arrest was on March 29 for two counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance, according to a charge history from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department. He had been arrested 11 days earlier for possession of schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing a firearm in commission of felony, Three years earlier Lay was arrested on March 8, 2007 for the manufacture, sell and delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon, possession of schedule III controlled substance and theft of property over $1,000. The next day he was charged with possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of scheduled 2 oxycontin, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of scheduled 2 methadone. Five years prior Lay was arrested in September 2002 he was charged with driving on revoked, two counts failure to appear and aggravated assault. One year earlier Lay was arrested on attachment for contempt. He began his ten year span of arrests in August 200 with charges of violation registration law and reckless endangerment. Lay was released on $100,000 bond for his March 29 arrest and is scheduled to appear in court on April 12.
