I live in a nation, indeed on a continent, totally devoid of baseball. I know that is hard for Americans to comprehend. After all, we have hosted the “World Series” now for a good century. Isn’t it puzzling that, for at least 100 years, only American teams have played in the so-called World Series? Granted, there is the Little League World Series, which we generally don’t win. As it turns out, America’s favourite pastime is also a pastime for kids in Japan, Puerto Rico, Brazil, and a good number of other Latin American nations.
