Unconscious adults and toddlers are never a good combination, especially when the stupor appears to be drug induced.

LaFollette Police Officer Susan Sowder was called to Pleasant Ridge Apartments on Monday afternoon. Upon arriving at Apartment 1003 Sowder allegedly discovered Kimberly A. Ledford, 23, asleep on the couch while her two –year- old son was wondering around the residence.

When Ledford was awakened she reportedly had slurred speech and trouble walking.

Sowder’s report stated that she observed a cut straw which Ledford allegedly admitted she had used to snort a pill.

During the course of the investigation Sowder found two more unidentified pills in Ledford’s pocket.

Ledford was charged with child abuse, possession of a legend drug without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 19.
