Once again, Heatherly's Point is in the news. Once again, I feel compelled to speak out on the behalf of my family-the living and the dead. Once again, I feel compelled to speak out on the behalf of all of us who are quickly being sealed off from the lake by rapacious developers. The original deed, from TVA to The LaFollette Methodist Church stipulates that the property is to be used for specific purposes. Should the church fail to live up to those terms, the same deed, stipulates that TVA has the right to take back possession of the property. This has been going on for over five years. At this point, TVA should exercise its option to reclaim the property securing it's future as a public use area. Our family would be honored to continue to share what we consider to be sacred ground with visitors from near and far. It is one the last places in Campbell County where the public can still access the east bank of the Powell River arm of Norris Reservoir.
